Before the playoffs, everything are meaningless.
Having reviewed two editions of the Free Version of Retro Bowl, a retro-inspired NFL football coach simulator in which you pick, sign, and cut players before taking control of them in game, both of which achieved massive success, I can attest to the game's widespread appeal (or unpopular, if you loved the [geometry dash subzero](https://geometrydashsubzero.net) game). At this time, I have no plans to write a third review of the game until significant changes have been made since my first critique (many of the problems I raised in my initial review were addressed, so props to the developer).
Since I've been dabbling with the game here and there, I though I'd compile a list of five suggestions that might improve your experience without requiring you to spend any real money.
Before the playoffs, everything are meaningless.
Although you may have a large wage limit in your first season, you may not have enough Coaching Credits (the game's in-game money) to make any significant changes to your team's squad. Accept your first season for what it is and try your best to attain a winning record and reach the playoffs without spending real money on this game (you don't have to).
The game was recently updated to reflect the NFL's new 7-team playoff structure, so unless you win the AFC or NFC East, you won't earn a first-round bye on your way to the Super Bowl (or Retro Bowl, as the game calls it).
If you have a bad start to the regular season, particularly if it is your first, try not to worry about it too much. Gaining Coaching Credits in Year 1 is crucial to drafting and signing the right players and hiring the best coaches.
